Weston Park Visit
On the 26thof March 2018, Green Class went to Weston Park to learn more about WW2.
The first thing we did was look at an Anderson shelter, we went into it in groups of 4 and we had to carry a fake gas mask in a box. Then we went in a building and we received a ration book for clothes and food, we also got an I.D card and a name tag which we wrote our name on.
Afterwards, we went into the cinema to see some pictures of different families during the war. Next, we pretended that we were getting bombed - this lasted 4 minutes. Following this, we went into a building and had our lunch.
After lunch, we went upstairs and made some medals using clay, we also went in another room and dressed up for a bit in clothing that was worn during the war. Later on, we went into a 1940s room and talked about the things that are different now, compared to the time during the war.
Finally, we went on a bus home after a really interesting day. J
