Headteacher’s Welcome to Bledington School
Ms J Kewley BA (Hons) PGCE NPQH head@bledington.gloucs.sch.uk
I have great pleasure in introducing you to Bledington Primary School. My colleagues and I are very proud of our school. This is a positive, highly motivated, hardworking school, totally committed to providing an outstanding place for learning.
Our motto “Enjoy, Engage, Challenge” sums up our approach to ensuring that all our pupils have the best possible opportunities to grow socially, emotionally, physically and academically in a happy and safe environment.
Our school is very much a little community within a community and we are proud of our nurturing family atmosphere and supportive values. We believe every pupil should be able to participate in and enjoy all school activities, learning about co-operation, responsibility and perseverance. Our expectations are high and we seek to develop in all our children a strong sense of responsibility for their own behaviour and a respect for others. Parents and children were involved in choosing our school values and an elected School Council and Eco council allow pupils to further develop their own interests and work collaboratively for the benefit of all.
Bledington Primary is set in beautiful grounds with our own garden, forest area, climbing equipment and large sports field, which allow our pupils to be physically active every day outside. Our school has bright, stimulating classrooms with up-to-date technology and high-quality resources. We are fortunate to have a Victorian building as the heart of the school with two large classrooms, a Nurture room and a library with the addition of a large modern hall for dining, assemblies, gym and events. Our double Pod building provides a spacious, modern environment for EYFS and KS1, complete with full weatherproof outdoor awning to allow for outside activity all year round.
We have a dedicated and professional staff supported by a committed Governing Body and a group of enthusiastic parents and friends known as The Bledington School Association (BSA).
We aim for our pupils to:
