Welcome to Parrot Class! We are Year 5 & 6 and we are taught by Mrs Droy and Madame Ziebeck and our Teaching Assistant is Miss Nessling. We are looking forward to another busy year, full of lots of learning and hopefully having fun too.
During Autumn term 2 we'll take a trip to Central America for our history topic all about the Ancient Maya. From temples to the amazing but deadly game of Pok a Tok, we'll be delving into the past to see how these people lived. Take a look at our topic map below to find out more about what else we'll be doing this term.
As Parrot class are ‘top’ of the school we’ll be leading the way and setting a great example to all the other children about how we behave each day, demonstrating our really positive attitude to learning.
Should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

Have a look at our Topic Map for Autumn Term 2 to find out all the different things we'll be learning.
These are our Knowledge Organisers for Science this term. Our topic is all about Evolution and Inheritance. As we learn new vocabulary we will be adding this to our documents. At the end of term we'll look back and see how much we've learned!
Homework will continue to be an important aspect of the children's learning during their time in Parrot Class. Children are expected to read daily (ideally to an adult), alongside completing a weekly READ task which is due on a Friday.
Children are also expected to work on their Maths Passport objectives, Key Maths Facts and spellings across the week as these will be assessed weekly.
Each half term a set of six pieces of homework will be on Seesaw. These include Maths, English, Science and other activities, such as art. It is expected that all six pieces are completed by the due date (usually the last Tuesday of the term).
We are excited to be using Seesaw, our online platform. You'll find our weekly spellings, homework and communications from your class teachers on there. Please do have a look!
We hope you find the information below of help at home. It includes Year 5/6 spellings, info on SATs and links to games that keep learning fun.
