EARLY BIRD CLUB (Breakfast Club)
Our Early Bird Club runs from 8.00 to allow Parents/Carers to drop children off at school for an hour before the start of the school day. The club is run by Mrs Lay and can be booked through the office; the sign up sheet on the school website (Parents - Early Bird) or by e mailing earlybird@bledington.gloucs.sch.uk. Payment (£3.00 per child/per session) is via Parentpay. Entrance to the club is via the playground gate- please press the bell.
Morning entrance
Our gate will be open from 8.45 until 9.00. Please be on time as latecomers delay the start to the school day!
We ask parents to queue sensibly along the outside wall and once the gate opens to walk up quickly and drop children off. Please do not stop in the gateway as we want to maintain the flow of the queue. KS2 pupils should be walking up the pavement and through the gate without parents.
Afternoon pick up:
The gate is opened at 3.15 for parents to come into the playground. The gate will be manned by a member of staff. Children will be matched up with parents from 3.15 onwards. No child will be allowed to leave until their appropriate adult has arrived.
If your child is attending a club, the club leader will bring the group to the gate at 4.15.
The school week amounts to 32.5 hours in total.
Standard Timings
The school day starts at 9.00am and finishes at 3:15pm. The gate is opened at 8:50am when children are welcomed into the playground by members of staff. There will always be two adults on the gate who will take messages, answer any questions or collect forms etc
Children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 have a morning break from 10:40 - 11:00 on the field.
Children in all classes have lunch between 12:00 - 1:00. They begin their break at 12:00 and await to be called into the dinner hall by the Midday Supervisors.
All pupils attend an afternoon assembly between 2.30 and 2.50pm. These include Values Assemblies, Singing Assemblies and Celebration Assemblies.
We have a daily Early Bird club which runs from 8.00 to 8.50am.
Our School day starts at 9.00 prompt. Gate opens at 8.50am and children are asked to walk directly into their classroom and start their morning task immediately. Usually we have Assembly from 2.30 until 2.50. The school day ends at 3:15pm when gates are opened to parents and carers. Clubs run Monday to Thursday after school and run from 3.15 to 4.15pm
If normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know in order to avoid any inconvenience to children, teachers and yourself.
To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike-racks.
If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely and safely on the side streets beside the school. As drop off and pick up times are busy, please drive carefully and respect our neighbours by not parking in front of their driveways. The Community Shop is happy for our parents to park in their car park (their coffee is delicious).
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
