Morning entrance and afternoon pick-up
As we return to school in Autumn 2021, although many restrictions have been lifted and Covid rules altered, we will still maintain caution and keep our procedures as safe as possible for all our children, parents and staff.
EARLY BIRD CLUB
Our Early Bird Club runs from 8.00 to allow Parents/Carers to drop children off at school for and hour before the start of the school day. The club is run by Mrs Lay and can be booked through the office or on Parent pay. Entrance to the club is via the playground gate- please press the bell.
Our gate will be open from 8.50 until 9.00.
We ask parents to queue sensibly along the outside wall and once the gate opens to walk up quickly and drop children off. Please do not stop in the gateway as we want to maintain the flow of the queue. KS2 pupils should be walking up the pavement and through the gate without parents.
Afternoon pick up:
The classes will line up outside in the playground. Parents/Carers are asked to stand along the wall and down the side of the lane. Two adults on the gate will call family names to send pupils out in twos or threes.
If your child is attending a club, the club leader will bring the group to the gate at 4.15.
Thank you for your patience with these slightly altered arrangements.
The school day starts at 8:55am and finishes at 3:15pm. The gate is opened at 8:45am when parents and children are welcomed into the playground by members of staff.
Children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 have a morning break from 10:40 - 11:00 on the field.
All pupils attend an afternoon assembly between 2.30 and 2.50pm. These include Values Assemblies, Singing Assemblies and Celebration Assemblies.
At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are asked to wait in the playground unless the weather is particularly bad in which case children will be invited straight into school. (We do have an Early Bird Club available for pupils to enroll in from 8am if required.)
Our School day starts at 8:55. Parents and children are asked to be in the school playground from 8:45 onwards. Usually we have Assembly from 2.15 to 2.35. The school day ends at 3:15 when gates are opened to parents and carers. Clubs run Monday to Thursday after school until 4.15pm.
If normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know in order to avoid any inconvenience to children, teachers and yourself.
To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike-racks.
If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely and safely on the side streets beside the school.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
