COVID-19 Latest Guidance
Following the confirmation of two cases of novel coronavirus in Gloucestershire, we know there has been a number of questions and concerns from schools and parents. We would like to remind colleagues that no school should close in response to a suspected (or confirmed) COVID-19 case unless directed to do so by Public Health England (PHE). The risk assessments carried out by PHE are very thorough and their team will also communicate with all people who need to self-isolate or be tested following a case being confirmed.

Under government guidance in place at the time of writing, schools can also continue to prepare for school trips to go ahead but should to continue to monitor the daily advice being provided to schools by PHE, and any travel advice issued by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. As you may have seen in yesterday’s national news, the Prime Minister will today (Tuesday 3rd March) be announcing new containment measures in relation to coronavirus in the UK; we will, of course, keep you updated with any developments which impact on schools.
