Welcome to Parrot Class! We are Year 5 & 6 and we are taught by Mrs Droy (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) and Madame Ziebeck (Monday, Tuesday) and our Teaching Assistant is Miss Nessling. We are looking forward another term, full of lots of learning and hopefully having fun too. We only have 4 weeks this term, including our assessment week in Week 3. We will also be taking part in sports events and our annual Maypole dancing!
This term we continue to travel through time in our Crime and Punishment history lessons from the torturing Tudors and the vile Victorians! We'll find out about what crimes were being committed and what happened to those culprits who were caught!. Take a look at our topic map below to find out more about what else we'll be doing this (very short!) term.
As Parrot class are ‘top’ of the school we’ll be leading the way and setting a great example to all the other children about how we behave each day, demonstrating our really positive attitude to learning.
Should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

In Science this term we will be finding our about Sustainability. We'll learn more about recycling, carbon footprints and how we can all so a little bit to make our planet a better place.
Homework expectations
Homework will continue to be an important aspect of the children's learning during their time in Parrot Class. Children are expected to read daily (ideally to an adult), alongside completing a weekly READ task which is due on a Tuesday.
Children are also expected to work on their Maths Passport objectives, Key Maths Facts and spellings across the week as these will be assessed weekly.
Each half term a set of six pieces of homework will be sent home via Teams. These include Maths, English, Science and other activities, such as art. It is expected that all six pieces are completed by the due date (usually the last Tuesday of the term). If children need resources or support then they should speak to an adult in their class as soon as possible.
All our termly homework assignments and spellings are now on Teams, our platform for work and communications. If you have forgotten your email or password for logging on to Teams, please speak to a teacher.
