Bledington Primary School held an afternoon of activities to celebrate the opening of the new Pod building.
This streamline building is a fabulous new asset to the school and provides a spacious, bright, well-insulated, modern environment for EYFS and KS1 to work and learn in. Photos are on our website http://www.bledington.gloucs.sch.uk/gallery/
The ribbon was cut by Mrs Alison Gainford, the longest serving member of staff, and Edison, the youngest pupil at the school. Invited guests, parents and friends were then invited to tour the premises. They were able to look at photos of before and after, experience the new environment and sample a delicious buffet provided by the Cenizal family. Fizz, tea and cakes were served by the Bledington School Association (BSA).
All pupils took part in an extended Easter egg hunt and then gathered in the hall for the results of the Easter Garden in a box competition. These fantastic creations were displayed around the hall for everyone to admire and were judged by Dr and Mrs Gilmour who are Voluntary Reading Helpers at the school. Louis, Leo and Timmy won first prizes for creativity, composition and use of materials.
The BSA drew the results of their 100 Club and also the winning tickets for the ever popular raffle which has raised approximately £1500 for BSA funds – a wonderful result!
Bledington Primary School currently has spaces in EYFS and KS1. Please do make an appointment to come and visit our school and find out what we can offer.
On Tuesday the 13th of March a lady called Sophie came in and did a science project with us. She was from Oxford university and she brought in a long expanded balloon. Then she showed us a car with a balloon on the end which made it power forward and an animal which you blow through to make his eyes fly.
Then we went outside and saw her use a pump to make water rockets fly. There was a three quarter full, a half full and a quarter full of water. We chose the quarter full because it went the highest, so did everybody else. We then went inside to make our own rockets. We put a nose cone on ours. Some people didn’t which turned out well.
We went outside to fire our rockets. Ours wasn’t very good because of the nose cone. The ones without went really high. We all really enjoyed it.
