Parrot Class - Year 5 and 6
Welcome to Parrot Class!

Welcome to Parrot Class!
We are Year 5 & 6 and we are taught by Madame Ziebeck (Monday and Tuesday) and Mrs Droy (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) and our Teaching Assistant is Miss Nessling. We are looking forward another term full of learning and lots of fun events.
This term we are learning about World War One and will be history detectives tying to find out more about what caused this war and what happened. In Science we will be studying Evolution and Inheritance. Why not take a look at the information below for more details?
We will also be doing Forest School until Easter so please make sure you have warm layers of clothing to put on for Wednesday afternoons and have your wellies and full waterproofs in school every day.
As Parrot class are ‘top’ of the school we’ll be leading the way and setting a great example to all the other children about how we behave each day, demonstrating our really positive attitude to learning.
Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Homework expectations
Homework will continue to be an important aspect of the children's learning during their time in Parrot Class. Children are expected to read daily (ideally to an adult), alongside completing a weekly READ task which is due on a Friday.
Children are also expected to work on their spellings across the week as these will be assessed weekly.
Each half term a set of six pieces of homework will be sent home via Teams. These include Maths, English, Science and other activities, such as art. It is expected that all six pieces are completed by the due date (usually the last Tuesday of the term). If children need resources or support then they should speak to an adult in their class as soon as possible.
All our termly homework assignments and spellings are on Teams, our platform for work and communications. If you have forgotten your email or password for logging on to Teams, please speak to a teacher.
