We use Twinkl Phonics Programme at Bledington. It is a validated, Department of Education approved structure programme which introduces letter sound, names and formation. Throughout each week, we explore blending and segmenting using the focus sound, whether it is single letters, digraphs (two letters) or trigraphs (three letters). We have attached the posters below showing what your child will be learning this year. We start with Level 2 and progress to Level 3. In the summer term we will be moving onto Level 4, which uses taught sounds to create larger words linked to consonant clusters and adjacent consonants. We spend the rest of the summer term consolidating what pupils have learnt so they are ready to move on when they start Year 1.

"Mr Thorne does phonics" is found on YouTube.  His videos are recommended by many phonic specialists as they show how individual letters or blended letters are pronounced and how they are used in words.
