We want to share some amazing news with you all!

Bledington Primary School is the only school in the area to have been awarded the prestigious SILVER LINGUAMARQUE AWARD. This is a huge achievement and our thanks go to Mme Ziebeck who led the application and to all the staff and pupils who have worked hard to embed the Primary Foreign Languages curriculum in our school. Mme Ziebeck collated and presented the evidence to examiners and was praised by them for her “high level of enthusiasm, expertise, commitment and dedication, not to talk about impeccable organisational skills”. 

The examiners were impressed by the intercultural dimension to our curriculum and the variety of activities provided across the year including; European Day of Languages, celebrating Festivals, French Friday (including Secret Student for each class), International Week, French Café, learning songs in another language and holding a French Play. They also found the Pupil profile portfolio and the individual pupil workbooks of a very high quality. Our pupils were keen to demonstrate what they had learnt during lesson observations and displays around the school evidenced their learning through written book, artwork and photos.

Mme Ziebeck will continue to lead Modern Foreign Languages across our North Cotswold Partnership of schools and liaise with The Cotswold School Language hub. We are so thrilled by our achievement that now we are determined to start the hard (but enjoyable) work towards the GOLD level!
