Puffin Class - Year 1 & 2

In Year 1&2, Miss Thomas is our Teacher and our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Benson and Miss Bartlett.

A healthy snack is provided and is eaten in the morning.
Please send water in a named bottle everyday.
We have a PE session on a Wednesday and Thursday - children in Year 1 & 2 get changed in school. PE Kits and Gym Shoes need to be left in school at all times.
We have Forest School on a Wednesday with Mrs Droy in Autumn and Summer terms. In spring term, on Wednesday afternoons we will have a sports coach working on team sports with us. Waterproofs and wellington boots will need to remain in school.
Reading Books are changed on a Monday. You will bring home two books based on your reading levels and one book based on the Phonics sound for that week. This allows your child to re-read the books across the week which is recommended in the curriculum and gives you time to do the READ comprehension task identified next to the title in your reading record diary. In Year 1 & 2 we expect your child to write their own response to the READ task.
Library Books will be selected and swapped on a Friday.
Spelling and phonics homework is set on a Monday and returned on a Monday. Spelling tests will be on a Monday.
Please name all school clothes and items... it will make it much easier for us to find items when they get lost
