Your child's first day at Bledington Primary School will be on Wednesday 2nd December 2026. 

Starting school is an important part of your child's life, so it is important to get your child ready.

Before starting school, it is important to start developing your child's independence, communication, social and emotional skills. As well as considering their physical development and healthy routines, such as, if your child struggles with separation, then it is important to start consistent routines like giving a hug and saying "see you later" will benefit, as your child will know you are coming back or encouraging your child to run, jump and climb in the garden or at the park to develop their motor skills.

We would also encourage parents to talk to their children about schools, which can be through reading books, showing them the starting school presentation (located below), pointing out school as you go past and talking about the staff.
