On this page you will find homework guidelines and expectations for Owl Class. 

Reading - we will send home 3 books on a Monday. This gives you flexibility as to when you complete reading practise. We would recommend you read each book with your child more than once (this is also recommended in the National Curriculum).

Spelling/Phonics - complete 4 times per week

Mathematics - we will occasionally set homework on Teams or will send an activity home in their homework pack. This will be to support what we are learning.

Topic Homework - will occasionally be sent home linked to our history, geography or science homework. We will set it on Teams and include a hand-in date.

If you have any problems with any of the homework or Teams, please do not hesitate to let us know. We are here to support you and your child.

Handy Hints

1. Choose a time suitable for your child to complete their homework.
2. Set a routine – children like to know what they are doing
3. Keep distractions to a minimum – e.g. don't have the TV or music on. 
4. You could set a timer, so your child knows it will finish after a set time. Try not to be tempted to extend the time. 
5. If anyone is becoming or feeling stressed, stop and return to the task at another time.
