School Council

At Bledington Primary we value all our children's ideas and opinions. Children hold a democratic vote at the beginning of each academic year to vote in two representatives. These children get the chance to meet to share ideas and changes with Mr Young. Children then feed back to their classes about events and changes going on around the school. The children set their own agendas and aims for our meetings and get to make real changes around our school...

Our Current School Councillors are:

Key Stage 1: Florence, Magnus & Rumiah

Key Stage 2: Lola, Annie, Samuel, Zoe, George, Rory, Lucas & Ava

Our school council have been elected by their peers and are starting out on the journey to make suggestions, plan fundraising events and listen to other pupil's ideas across the school.

What has the School Council done in the past?

Across the years, School Council have been instrumental in organising and changing several things around Bledington Primary. Below is a list of a few that we are most proud of:

  • Raising money for Children in Need (fill a teddy, run a mile for Pudsey, hunt the spots)
  • New play equipment fund-raised for and bought
  • Get as red as you can competition (Red Nose Day Fund raiser)
  • School Play poster competition (two years running)
  • Christmas Decorations (sessions run with each class)
  • Hot Chocolate Stand (Fair-trade Week, two years running)
  • Donating Harvest Festival foods to the Food Bank (four years running)
  • Fundraising for new playground games for our school
  • Providing sweets for our whole school pantomime
