We are the Bledington Bloggers!
The Sea's Journey
Come with me to the ocean sea,
We'll leave off the sand and never touch land,
The sea will be blue
and I'll be there too,
We'll have so much fun,
and we'll never be done,
So much to explore,
You'll be wanting more,
The food will be nice,
and the juice as cold as ice,
The fish scales will shimmer,
and you'll only see glimmer,
I will be drive you while,
you watch the seagulls dive,
The waves will wash round,
and we'll never see ground,
So come with me to the ocean sea
we'll leave off sand and never touch the land!

Have a great holiday!
Super Science - 14/3/19
We have really enjoyed doing some science this week. It is British Science Week. We have been looking at water wheels. We all got a bit wet! We did a good experiment looking at electricity. Science club made lots of models from spaghetti and marshmallows. We did lots of other science. It was really fun!
It's Book Week
This week, Bledington are going bananas about books! We will be taking part in quizzes, doing paired reading across the school, sharing our favourite books, designing new book covers and even dressing up as our favourite characters! The Book Fair will be in the hall before and after school each day so come along and buy some new things to read! We can't wait to get stuck into all of the fun!
At Bledington, we have been celebrating Fair-Trade Fortnight in many different ways. We have been looking into how it works in classes, exploring how different products can help support farmers in different ways. We all took part in a school assembly all about it, watching videos about people who have really been helped by the project. Our eco-council also ran a fair-trade Hot chocolate stall where we raised over £50 for the Fair-trade charity! We are also very proud of how hard we have worked to support something in the global community.
Welcome back to another term from the Bledington Bloggers.
Mrs Rollins has given us a sneak-peak at all the things coming up this term and we thought we would let you in on the secret!
This term we are excited to take part in a Fair-trade Adventure Write, Eco-Council Hot Chocolate Stand, Red Nose Day get as red as you can, Comic Relief Children v. Teachers Quiz, Visit to a NASA Astronaut, World Book Day Dress up, a book fair in school, Book Cover Competition by School Council, Science Week, Whole School Science experiments, Flower Show Competition and an Easter Bonnet Parade. What a lot to cram into six weeks! We will be exhausted but smiling by the end - so lets get going!
On Wednesday 30th January, Blue class got the chance to stay behind after school and launch into space camp! Mrs Rollins sat us down on the carpet and started talking about space - 5 minutes later she was still talking! We had so many questions!
Blue class filed down to the hall and split into three groups. The first activity was in Green class where we made rockets from balloons. The power of the air inside the balloon sent it shooting along the string. Next we places mystery tablets inside film canisters and the power of the gas made them pop open and fire into the air. In the hall we met the cutest cuddly planets, with faces and everything! We had to try and put them in order and we found out that poor Pluto was such a long way away! It is no longer even called a planet. We also made constellation projectors - we stuck holes in card at the points of different constellations and when we shone torches though them it was like looking at the stars.
We got to them go outside and despite it being freezing we looked though the telescope and saw the stars! There was a special red circle we used to line it up. We also used the I-Pads to spot the constellations and the planets. Then we led down on the mats and got to stare at the stars - it was really relaxing. Freya's mum brought us yummy hot-chocolate.
Space Camp was the most amazing fun and I learnt so much.
Happy New Year
A happy new year to you all and we are straight back into school! We are excited to get learning again and start our new topics. In Blue Class, we will be learning about all the frozen lands of the world. Green class will be hunting through the past to look at Crime and Punishment while the Infants are all about animals!
Lots of exciting things to come this year including Space Camp, Trips, Plays, Sports and more.

Merry Christmas from the Bloggers.
This week we have started advent calendars all the way across the school. Every member of Bledington Primary has also made a Christmas tree decoration, so that the school-council can decorate the tree in the hall. We have also started thinking about Nativity songs, Christmas Carols and the Nativity story in classes. We are very excited because Christmas is just around the corner!
W/B 26th November
The bloggers have been asked by the Eco-Council to announce a competition!
Please make a Christmas decoration from TOTALLY recycled materials. It could be a star, bauble, snowman, reindeer or anything you fancy but cannot be made from anything new! Please bring your entries in before Friday 14th December.
Eco-council would like to remind everyone it must only be recycled materials, must be smaller than 12cm and light enough to hang from a tree branch.
W/B 19th November
This week we have been getting crafty: Green class have been making volcano's for their extreme earth topic and Art Club has started for Year's 4, 5 and 6. Lots of children have been enjoying themselves in the forest and lots of people have been getting very muddy playing football.
The Bloggers are very excited to talk to you soon about all the Christmas things that are going to be happening soon. We think there will be advent calendars, Pantomime visits, class parties and maybe even a Christmas Lunch!

A fantastic five minute interview with the famous Miss Nessling
This week, amazing Alex has been interviewing the Green class TA
Alex: Do you have any pets?
Miss Nessling: Yes, I have two dogs. A black Labrador called Purdy and a naughty terrier called Ted! He is literally the naughtiest dog in the whole wide world.
Alex: I bet my dog, Harvey, would like to be friends with Ted! What is your favourite colour?
Miss Nessling: If I can pick two, it is silver and gold! I just love them.
Alex: Are you good at football?
Miss Nessling: I love watching football but I am rubbish at playing football. I can’t even do a keepie-uppie or dribble!
Miss Nessling: What I would really like to do is the thing where they throw it up and catch it on the neck.
Alex: Then I will have to show you some freestyle skills. What do you like doing at the weekend?
Miss Nessling: I love having a lie in, walking my dogs, going out for coffee and having a glass of wine. Last question…
Alex: Finally, what car would you buy if you won the lottery?
Miss Nessling: I would buy a black Audi R8.
Alex: Nice choice! Thanks for coming in!
Miss Nessling: Thanks! I loved being famous!

Introducing the Bledington Bloggers
Hello, we are the Bledington Bloggers. This is a brand new chance for the children of Bledington to speak out about what we want to say! We hope you enjoy it!
In our weekly run down, we will tell you about the classes: In Green class, they have been to PGL. I think this was the most popular thing that has ever happened and they all loved it! They loved the traipse – where you have to climb up a big pole and then jump over to a bar like in the circus, and the abseiling. In Blue class, they have been looking at the Greeks, Forces and Magnets. They built parachutes to try and protect eggs and creating their own Greek myths. In Rainbow class they have just started learning the songs for a Nativity play!
This week, we have been asking lots of people their favourite thing about being at Bledington at our break time. They said all the following things:
When Mr Wooton lost his football magazine.
When KS1 went into Eastnor Castle.
Egg Parachute making
Having sports day
Playing in the Forest
Maths, especially Problem Solving
We are proud to be at this school because everyone is happy!
